Optical Test Technician (2nd Shift)
Location: Fairport, NY
Schedule: Full-Time B-shift; Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (Training on A)
Pay: $28/hr
Type: Contract position with potential for extension based on demand
About the Role:
We are seeking a hands-on Optical Test Technician to perform precision polarization measurements on individual lenses using our proprietary Lens Element Optical Polarization and Retardance Device ("Leopard”) metrology station. This role requires a high level of care when handling sensitive optical components in a molecular cleanroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain custom optical test equipment

Perform optical measurements and analyze data using proprietary software

Handle fragile optics with care while maintaining cleanliness standards

Align components to rotation stages using mechanical indicators

Work independently after initial training

Maintain accuracy and consistency in test results
Qualifications:

2–3 years' experience in optics, manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred

Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail

Comfortable working with lasers, detectors, spectrometers, and other optical tools

Familiarity with Excel and data analysis

Experience aligning optical systems to tight tolerances is a plus

Coachable, observant, and quality-focused
Education Requirements:

Associate degree preferred

High school diploma or GED required with relevant experience
