Summary
Ensure the correct use of advanced quality planning and engineering to enhance quality, reliability and acceptance of system, processes and products. Provide a professional level of quality customer service to both internal and external customers/suppliers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor the performance of the product quality and reliability systems.
- Assist and coordinate the following Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) disciplines:
- Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
- Process Control Plan (PCP).
- Process Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (PFMEA)
- Process Flow Chart (PFC)
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Measurement System Analysis (MSA) / Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R)
- Metrology Inspection Methods and Strategies
- Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
- Problem Solving using the 8-D and 3 x 5 Why methodology
- Generate and maintain accurate documentation relating to quality, reliability and process.
- Implement prevention/detection systems to eliminate problems that affect quality and reliability.
- Prepare and present PPM (parts per million) reports, cost of quality reports, Leadership Scorecard and other metrics reports.
- Develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting and problem solving.
- Accurately files all Quality paperwork (customer complaints, control plans, quality alerts, weekly logs, etc.)
- Take active part in training and helping others as required and participate in continuous improvement teams as required.
- Participate in pre-production activities as quality representative.
- Complete Quality System audits of supplier on-site, and follow-up audit and corrective action.
- Issue supplier non-conformance and follow-up corrective action, and problem solving with suppliers.
- Coordinate Management Review process
- Assist is supplier evaluations for on-site audits.
- Assist and provide support for Quality Assurance Manager.
- Use computer to accurately enter all Company required information for data collection.
- Safely operates all required lifting/moving devices.
- Attends all company specified training as required.
- Participates in continual improvement as required.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Compliance with attached Safety Expectations.
- Regular and punctual attendance at work.
- Compliance with relevant policies, procedures and instructions, including Code of Conduct.
- Occasional travel.

- BS in Engineering or other technical discipline required.
- Minimum 8 years of experience working in Quality Department in a manufacturing environment.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.
- Experience in the automotive industry preferred.
- Proficiency in the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) disciplines.
- Proficiency in blue print reading and GD&T interpretation.
- Knowledge and experience with formal documentation systems and methods particularly ISO9001 and IATF16949.
