Are you a bold, decisive HR leader ready to drive real impact in a fast-paced, industrial environment? Our client, a long-standing manufacturer with multiple locations in the US and Canada, is looking for a Vice President of Human Resources who thrives on strategy, leadership, and operational excellence — and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves when needed.

In this fully onsite role, reporting directly to the CHRO, you’ll lead HR operations for a workforce of 1,000 across the U.S. and Canada. You’ll oversee everything from union negotiations to executive talent planning — playing a critical role in shaping culture and driving performance in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

 What You’ll Do

  • Drive enterprise-wide HR strategy across two regions, aligning with organizational goals

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on all HR matters

  • Lead a high-performing HR team, fostering a results-driven, collaborative culture

  • Build and implement end-to-end talent strategies – from recruitment to succession planning

  • Manage multiple union contracts and labor relations strategy

  • Oversee compensation, benefits, and retirement programs (DB/401(k))

  • Monitor HR metrics, analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)

  • Deep HR leadership experience in manufacturing, with union exposure strongly preferred

  • Proven success aligning HR practices with business goals

  • Strong labor relations expertise and a fearless approach to complex issues

  • Confident, energetic leadership style with excellent communication skills

  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on, practical approach

Additional Details

  • Work Environment: 90% office / 10% mill presence and travel

  • Team: Supervises HR staff across multiple facilities

  • Travel: Required between plant locations in ME, NY, and Canada
