Our Hudson site is looking for a new team member for the 1st shift, scheduled Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
This role involves assisting the Production group in the setup and operation of equipment in a process development or limited production environment. Additional responsibilities may include setup of repeat work, training other employees, performing specific preventive maintenance tasks, documenting process conditions and results, and quality reporting. Occasionally, it may be necessary to temporarily assume the role of Laser Operator.
Responsibilities
- Utilize various procedures and apply clearly prescribed standards and practices, requiring good judgment.
- Operate industrial machinery to complete optical and software setup of production-level laser machining jobs to prescribed conditions.
- Be resourceful and adaptive, finding ways around obstacles or developing new approaches and methods.
- Support Production Start-up Activities through Documentation Generation, Equipment Investigations, Maintenance needs, and Job Safety Assessments.
- Take ownership of all assigned activities, ensuring quality remains a high priority.
- Initiate process change or machine service requests.
- Perform simple to complex part inspections.
- Analyze and document data and procedures.
- Operate laser systems per procedure or through instruction under various conditions.
- Train other employees to processing conditions and requirements.
- Provide process demonstrations to clients.
- Assist and troubleshoot production issues.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or Equivalent.
- 5 years of relevant experience in the operation and setup of optic or laser equipment.
- Ability to quickly and positively adapt to changing priorities and processes.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Mechanical and analytical aptitude.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment within primary job functions.
- Experience in programming G code or similar languages.
- Ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated.
- Strong math skills are necessary, as well as the ability to read blueprints.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates level technical training.
