Benefits Specialist

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Benefits Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing employee benefits programs, ensuring accurate and timely administration of benefits.  The position serves as a point of contact with employees regarding their benefits inquiries. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various HR systems.  100% in office in the New Haven, CT area.

Job Duties include:

  • Administers benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, employee/dependent eligibility, life and supplemental insurance, short-term and long-term disability.
  • Accountable for administering and planning effectively benefit program activities, such as open enrollment, wellness initiatives and retiree medical programs across the Company.
  • Assist HR Director with development, implementation, and maintenance of employee benefits programs in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Monitors transmission of enrollment to third party vendors and reconciles eligibility on a regular basis to ensure accuracy of enrollment records for employees and retirees across the organization.
  • Manage the enrollment, termination, and modification processes for employee benefit plans, ensuring accurate and timely processing in Company’s HRIS system Paycom.
 
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in benefits and compensation administration or a similar HR Specialist role.
  • Certification in HR or benefits administration (e.g., Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) is a plus but not required.
