General Purpose:
The Benefits Enrollment Specialist I is responsible for supporting employee participation in various benefit offerings such as health insurance and ancillary benefits. This role requires effective communication with employees, field partners, and internal teams, ensuring a high level of service, compliance with regulatory requirements, and accurate processing of benefit transactions.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver excellent customer service through phone and digital channels to employees and internal partners.

Educate employees on benefit plan options, enrollment procedures, and eligibility.

Research and resolve benefit-related issues and document interactions in systems such as Client Space and Upstream.

Reference benefit documentation to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, including Section 125.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge on system changes, benefit policies, and regulatory updates.

Collaborate with team members to promote knowledge-sharing and efficient problem resolution.

Process benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, and adjustments accurately and in a timely manner.

Support the annual enrollment process including training, education, and compliance monitoring.

Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to recommend solutions to management.

Communicate professionally and effectively in all interactions.

Prioritize and organize tasks to meet key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs), and business schedules.

Qualifications:
Education:
-
High School Diploma – Required
-
College Degree – Preferred
Experience:
-
1–2 years in customer service – Required
-
1–2 years in employer benefits – Required
-
1–2 years in a PEO environment – Preferred
Skills & Abilities:

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Prism – Required

Strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills
Licenses/Certifications:

2-15 Life and Health License – Preferred (to be obtained within 3 months)
