About the Position
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Work Order Entry / Shipping & Receiving Associate to join a busy manufacturing environment.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of computer-based work order entry and hands-on shipping and receiving. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable with technology, has strong attention to detail, and can keep things moving in a fast-paced production environment.
What You'll Do
- Enter incoming purchase orders into an ERP system to create work orders.
- Review purchase orders for accuracy and identify urgent or priority jobs.
- File and maintain purchase orders and work-in-process documentation.
- Receive incoming materials and customer product.
- Verify weights, box counts, and piece counts as needed.
- Inspect serialized raw materials and follow proper procedures for secure storage.
- Communicate with customers regarding damaged parts, missing quantities, or missing information.
- Prepare completed work orders and materials for production.
- Move materials to designated staging and production areas based on production schedules.
- Prepare shipments for FedEx, UPS, common carriers, and other transportation providers.
- Ensure completed jobs are properly packaged and ready for shipment.
- Prepare packing slips, shipping documents, and required certifications.
- Assist customers with pickups and deliveries.
- Answer customer calls regarding pickups, deliveries, and job status.
- Respond to internal communications and help direct messages to the appropriate team members.
- Schedule daily driver pickups and deliveries.
- Assist drivers with locating customer materials and loading and unloading trucks as needed.
- Maintain accurate shipping documentation and prepare completed orders for invoicing.
- Monitor inventory of shipping and packing supplies and communicate when supplies need to be replenished.
- Provide excellent customer service while supporting the production, shipping, and receiving teams.
What We're Looking For
- Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience preferred.
- Experience with an ERP system is a plus.
- Strong computer and technology skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to safely move materials as needed.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
