Pay:
$27–$32 per hour, with some flexibility for the right candidate
Job Requirements and Primary Responsibilities:
- Fabrication experience.
- MIG and Flux-Core welding experience
- Understand how to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
- Plan the sequence of steps to perform duties.
- Understand how to use measuring devices to cut and prepare raw materials to required specifications.
- Lay out and examine metal stock or workpieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses to bend, cut, form, punch, drill or otherwise form and assemble metal components.
- Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints, engineering drawings and layout specifications using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
- Operate various welding, soldering, or brazing equipment to assemble equipment.
- Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
- Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes or bolt straps, or bolt parts in position for welding or riveting.
- Move, assemble, and install equipment.
- Install generators, fabricate the vehicles to accommodate customer specifications for exhaust and fuel line hook ups.
- Perform all duties following all 5S/LEAN manufacturing requirements and according to all safety and health policies.
Required Skills:
- Able to read and interpret documents such as layouts, blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.
- Able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area and circumference.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and general math skills.
- Solve problems with a deal of variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Required Experience and Education:
- Requires the ability to operate various equipment: to include welding equipment, forklift, hoists and various hand and power tools.
- Requires a broad knowledge of mechanics, metal properties, welding techniques and general metalwork procedures and practices.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools or controls.
- The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- The employees is occasionally required to walk, sit, stand, reach above shoulders, climb or balance, talk or hear, taste or smell, and use foot/feet to operate machine.
- Must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
