Welder Class I
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Class I Welder to perform advanced welding and fabrication work in a job shop environment. This position requires strong technical skills, the ability to read detailed blueprints, and experience working with a variety of welding processes and steel fabrications.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a job shop welding environment
- Proficient in MIG, TIG, and Sub Arc welding
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to safely handle and operate required hand tools and welding equipment
- Strong blueprint reading skills with the ability to:
- Create layouts
- Fit up weldments
- Perform finish welding per drawings
- Physically able to:
- Work 4–5 hours at a time
- Bend for extended periods
- Work in positions requiring bending, stooping, twisting, and turning
Primary Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints and specifications
- Perform highly diversified welding on a wide variety of steel fabrications
- Cut, grind, and prepare materials for welding
- Use multiple welding methods, including:
- MIG welding
- Welding electrodes
- Pre-heating and post-heating processes
- Straightening and bending
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure a clean, safe work area
- Perform basic diagnostic checks on machine controls
- Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the supervisor
- Assist with training and instructing new operators as needed
