Welders (pipe, vessel, structural) needed to join our team! Great pay and benefits upon full hire. This role is responsible for the set-up and operation of advanced welding equipment,. This role uses technical expertise to solve problems and eliminate scrap, rework, and downtime while effectively repairing defective products. Repair work must meet an acceptable appearance level and comply with high quality standards. Welders ensure all work is completed to specification. Successful candidates are self-motivated multi-taskers with a strong work ethic who consistently meet quality standards. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect finished product for completeness and conformance to quality assurance procedures
- Safely operate advanced-level welding equipment
- Set up, troubleshoot, and make advanced adjustments to welding machines to maintain production and quality standards
- Participate in improvement planning, including modification of weld procedures to increase safety, efficiency, and quality
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Clock into production jobs consistently and maintain production averages at or above expected standards
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with all departments
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to pass an open root 3G MIG/Fluxcore fill-in-cap test and a 6G TIG root, flux, fill-in-cap test on 2-inch Schedule 160 pipe (must demonstrate visual proficiency before testing is offered)
- Minimum 2 years of pipe welding experience using TIG
- Ability to obtain weld certification to AWS/ANSI standards
- Basic safety training
- Intermediate math skills and ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Solid understanding of volts and amps with the ability to adjust settings accordingly
- Basic data entry skills for maintenance breakdown calls
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work order instructions, and weld symbols
- Ability to operate all tools required for the position
- Strong understanding of and adherence to quality policies and procedures, including defect detection
- Strong troubleshooting skills
