Job Summary
Responsible for welding components in a heavy manufacturing environment, operating welding equipment, performing quality checks, and following production work orders and safety procedures.
Essential Functions
- Operate welding systems and make adjustments as needed.
- Operate plasma cutters, overhead hoists, cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
- Client out, position, and tack-weld components prior to final welding.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Meet established production and quality standards.
- Perform quality inspections using basic measuring equipment.
- Accurately complete work orders, QAD reports, Kanban cards, and other required documentation.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas and follow all safety and quality procedures.
- Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1+ year of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must successfully pass the required weld test.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, including geometric tolerancing.
- Basic computer skills.
- Self-motivated with strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work overtime or outside regular hours as needed.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, balance, grasp, climb, squat, and kneel.
- Regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs.; occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Work in a loud industrial environment with frequent exposure to manufacturing-related atmospheric conditions.
- Follow all required PPE, safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
