Unclaimed Property Specialist I

Project Duration: July through November (Two-Phase Assignment)

This temporary project will support the Arizona Department of Revenue's Unclaimed Property Division and will be completed in two phases:

Phase 1: Email Processing & Data Entry

  • Review incoming emails and correspondence related to unclaimed property claims.
  • Accurately enter and update information within the Unclaimed Property system.
  • Verify information against source documents and maintain detailed records.
  • Retrieve, organize, and file documentation while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

Phase 2: Customer Service & Inbound Call Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers contacting the Unclaimed Property Hotline.
  • Handle inbound calls professionally and efficiently while following established call center procedures and scripts.
  • Research customer inquiries, identify needs, and provide appropriate information and resolutions.
  • Take ownership of customer concerns and ensure a positive customer experience.

Additional Responsibilities

Document Control

  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and correspondence.
  • Sign for certified and registered mail.
  • Create digital copies of documents for retention and recordkeeping purposes.
  • Maintain logs of incoming packages and outgoing correspondence.
  • Prepare and process outgoing mail, including express deliveries when necessary.
  • Redirect misdirected mail appropriately.

Data Entry & Records Management

  • Transfer information from paper documents into electronic databases and systems.
  • Verify and update records to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Retrieve information from databases as requested.
  • Organize and maintain records to support compliance and retention requirements.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Strong data entry and recordkeeping experience
  • Customer service and phone support experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with confidential information
  • Strong computer proficiency and ability to navigate multiple systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous call center, administrative, or government experience preferred

Work Environment

  • Hybrid schedule: Candidates must be available to work onsite as business needs require.

  • Resume-to-Resume (R2R) and Cover Letter are required with submission.
  • Candidates previously submitted to AZDOR Taxpayer Services Unclaimed Property Specialist I postings are not eligible for consideration.
