Toolmaker / Manual Machinist
Location: Oxford, CT

Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathes, Bridgeport mills, and Protrak milling machines.
- Manufacture tooling, fixtures, and precision-machined components.
- Machine parts to close tolerances while maintaining high quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Work independently while collaborating with engineering and production teams to meet project goals.
- Minimum of 3 years of Toolmaker or Manual Machinist experience.
- Experience operating:
- Manual lathes
- Bridgeport mills
- Protrak milling machines
- Ability to machine precision parts to tight tolerances.
- Strong knowledge of machining practices, tooling, and inspection methods.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Experience building tools and fixtures.
- Prototype or short-run production experience.
- Casting experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to pass a preemployment screening
Salary $30-$55 an hour based on experience
Shift: 1 st (Monday through Friday with flexible start time)
