Summary
The Timekeeping Coordinator provides support to production supervisors in managing employee time and attendance records. This position works closely with new supervisors to ensure accurate timekeeping practices, compliance with company policies, and proper use of timekeeping systems within the production environment.
Supervisor Support & Training
- Assist new production supervisors with understanding and navigating timekeeping systems and processes
- Provide guidance on time and attendance policies, procedures, and best practices specific to production operations
- Answer supervisor questions regarding timesheet approvals, corrections, and exception handling
- Serve as a resource for troubleshooting timekeeping issues on the production floor
- Monitor timekeeper accuracy for production employees and identify discrepancies or errors
- Support supervisors in reviewing and approving employee timesheets
- Assist with timesheet corrections, shift differentials, and overtime calculations
- Ensure compliance with company timekeeping policies and labor regulations
- Track attendance patterns and assist with absence management
- Act as liaison between production supervisors and HR/Payroll departments
- Communicate timekeeping deadlines and reminders to production supervisors
- Escalate complex issues to Production Supervisor and HR as appropriate
- Maintain clear documentation of common questions and resolutions
- Coordinate with shift supervisors to ensure consistent timekeeping practices across all shifts
- Understand production schedules and their impact on timekeeping
- Assist with tracking labor hours by department, line, or project as needed
- Support supervisors during peak production periods or schedule changes
- Help ensure accurate recording of breaks, meal periods, and shift changes
- Identify common supervisor challenges and recommend solutions
- Assist in developing training materials and quick-reference guides for production environment
- Support continuous improvement of timekeeping processes
- Provide feedback to improve timekeeping efficiency on the production floor
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of administrative, production, or HR support experience
- Strong understanding of timekeeping and payroll processes
- Familiarity with production/manufacturing environment preferred
- Proficiency with HRIS/timekeeping systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to explain processes clearly to others
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Experience with [specific timekeeping system your company uses]
- Previous experience in manufacturing or production setting
- Experience training or supporting supervisors/managers
