Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Textile Chemist to support the development, testing, and optimization of textile dyeing, printing, and finishing processes. This role is responsible for developing color formulations, troubleshooting production issues, ensuring product quality, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced textile manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, standardize, and optimize textile printing formulations using VAT and Disperse dyes.
- Create and adjust color formulations for both natural and synthetic fibers.
- Calculate, document, and enter formulas into the Dye Dispense System.
- Measure infrared radiation including Near IR and Short Wave IR requirements.
- Assist production teams with preparing Ager and Finish chemical mixes.
- Collaborate with suppliers on new product development, chemical trials, and technical support initiative
- Troubleshoot color variation, shade inconsistencies, and process deviations while implementing corrective actions.
- Review incoming raw materials and verify specifications against Certificates of Analysis (COA).
- Develop and improve finishing formulas including:
- Durable Water Repellent (DWR)
- Wrinkle Resistant finishes
- Insect Repellent finishes
- Other specialty textile treatments
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in textile dyeing, printing, or finishing processes preferred.
- Knowledge of textile dyes, chemicals, and finishing applications.
- Experience working with natural and synthetic fibers
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 -100 lbs reperitivly
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to stand and bend lift walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work in hot environments
Payrate:
$50,000 or more depending on exp.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Thursday
7am – 5pm
