Job Summary
We are looking for dependable, hardworking individuals to assist with the installation of black silt/erosion-control fencing along the back of a property. This is a temporary outdoor position expected to last approximately 3–4 weeks.
No previous silt fence installation experience is required. Candidates should be comfortable performing physical labor, working outdoors, and using basic hand tools.
Responsibilities
- Install black silt/erosion-control fencing along designated areas
- Measure and mark fence lines
- Dig shallow trenches for the bottom of the fencing
- Drive wooden stakes or posts into the ground
- Attach and secure fencing material to posts
- Backfill and compact soil around the installed fence
- Use hand tools such as shovels, hammers, post drivers, utility knives, and other basic equipment
- Lift, carry, and move materials as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Follow all safety instructions and directions from the onsite supervisor
Qualifications
- Reliable and dependable
- Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods
- Able to perform physical labor throughout the workday
- Ability to repeatedly bend, stoop, kneel, dig, lift, and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable using basic hand tools
- Able to lift and carry materials as required
- Construction, landscaping, fencing, or general labor experience is a plus but not required
- Must be willing to follow safety procedures and work as part of a team
