Nesco Data Center & Infrastructure is seeking a (TAM) Technical Account Manager in the Greater Maryland-Delaware Area who is interested in joining a premiere IT Solution Provider.

Technical Account Manager

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) serves as a trusted technology advisor and primary point of contact for assigned clients. This position is responsible for managing the overall client relationship from a technology and service perspective, understanding business objectives, monitoring service performance, and helping clients develop and execute practical technology strategies.

The Technical Account Manager works closely with client stakeholders and internal technical teams to assess existing environments, identify risks and opportunities, develop technology roadmaps, and ensure services align with business requirements. The role requires a strong combination of technical knowledge, business understanding, communication skills, and relationship management.

The TAM will regularly lead or participate in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), strategic planning sessions, service reviews, technology roadmap discussions, and executive-level client meetings. This individual must be comfortable translating complex technical information into clear business recommendations and coordinating internal resources to deliver measurable value to the client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technology contact and trusted advisor for assigned client accounts.

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with technical, operational, and executive-level client stakeholders.

  • Conduct technology assessments, baseline reviews, discovery activities, maturity assessments, and technology alignment exercises.

  • Evaluate client environments to identify technology risks, operational gaps, inefficiencies, lifecycle concerns, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews, strategic planning meetings, service reviews, roadmap discussions, and other recurring client engagements.

  • Develop and maintain technology roadmaps that align client technology investments with business priorities and long-term objectives.

  • Assist clients with technology budgeting, lifecycle planning, prioritization, and strategic investment decisions.

  • Monitor service performance, technology initiatives, and account activities to proactively identify potential issues or areas requiring attention.

  • Coordinate resources across engineering, project management, solution architecture, cybersecurity, service delivery, sales, and other internal teams.

  • Advocate for client requirements internally and ensure appropriate resources are engaged to address customer needs.

  • Prepare executive-level presentations, technology assessments, gap analyses, strategic recommendations, roadmap presentations, and other client-facing deliverables.

  • Maintain accurate account documentation, technology roadmaps, governance materials, decision logs, service review documentation, action-item registers, risk trackers, and issue logs.

  • Document client meetings, decisions, recommendations, risks, and follow-up activities.

  • Follow established delivery methodologies, templates, playbooks, and quality standards to ensure consistent and professional client engagements.

  • Identify documentation deficiencies, service delivery issues, process inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve the overall client experience.

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to develop repeatable processes, best practices, knowledge resources, and other delivery improvements.

  • Participate in strategic technology discussions and customer-success initiatives designed to increase client value and strengthen relationships.

  • Identify opportunities for additional technology services or solutions that address legitimate client requirements and provide measurable business value.

  • Ensure recommendations and technology initiatives are appropriately aligned with client business objectives, operational requirements, risk tolerance, and financial considerations.

Required Qualifications

Professional Experience

  • 3–7 years of experience in Technical Account Management, IT consulting, customer success, technology services, account management, or a related technology leadership role.

  • Experience working within an MSP, technology services organization, consulting environment, systems integrator, or enterprise IT organization preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience managing client relationships and leading technology-focused discussions with both technical and business stakeholders.

  • Experience working directly with customers on technology strategy, service delivery, infrastructure planning, or technology improvement initiatives.

Communication & Relationship Management

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical professionals and non-technical business executives.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to establish credibility and trust with clients.

  • Ability to influence stakeholders, facilitate productive discussions, and drive decisions without relying solely on direct authority.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, deliverables, and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.

Business Acumen

  • Understanding of business operations, strategic planning, technology investment planning, risk management, and operational efficiency.

  • Ability to translate technology recommendations into measurable business outcomes, cost considerations, risk reduction, and potential ROI.

  • Comfortable participating in executive-level conversations involving technology strategy, budgets, priorities, service performance, and business objectives.

  • Ability to understand a client's broader business goals and translate those goals into practical technology initiatives.

Technical Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, networking, cloud technologies, cybersecurity fundamentals, and IT service management.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments preferred.

  • Understanding of technology lifecycle management, infrastructure modernization, governance, security best practices, and managed services delivery.

  • Ability to understand and discuss enterprise technology architectures, infrastructure dependencies, service-level metrics, operational performance, and technology roadmaps.

  • Ability to work effectively with engineers, architects, cybersecurity professionals, project managers, service delivery teams, and other technical specialists without necessarily serving as the hands-on technical resource.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a technically knowledgeable, business-minded professional who can operate comfortably between the client, executive leadership, and technical delivery teams. This individual should be capable of understanding complex technology environments while maintaining a strong focus on customer relationships, business outcomes, service quality, and long-term technology strategy.

The successful Technical Account Manager will be proactive rather than reactive, able to recognize emerging risks and opportunities, communicate recommendations clearly, and coordinate the appropriate internal resources to help clients achieve their technology and business objectives.
