Overview
Client is seeking a VMware Infrastructure Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure and private cloud environments. This role will focus on packaging, patching, deploying, maintaining, and monitoring technology while helping ensure compatibility, security, stability, and optimal performance across enterprise systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Package, patch, and deploy software and infrastructure components within a VMware-based private cloud environment.
- Plan, install, test, maintain, and support infrastructure throughout the organization.
- Support enterprise projects with system requirements and test plan development.
- Contribute to system architecture planning and enterprise technology policies and procedures.
- Develop system implementation guidelines that support infrastructure security.
- Monitor system performance and resolve complex infrastructure issues across enterprise environments.
- Conduct impact analysis for enterprise-wide technology changes.
- Perform capacity and performance monitoring using infrastructure monitoring tools.
- Provide infrastructure capacity analysis and recommendations.
- Support enterprise-level system integration, software, and hardware for optimal performance.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and introduce applicable solutions aligned with organizational goals.
- Identify and mitigate infrastructure and implementation risks.
- Work closely with other team members and execute assigned technical direction.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
- Hands-on Virtual Private Cloud experience within a VMware engineering environment.
- Experience with VMware infrastructure, virtualization, and private cloud technologies.
- Experience packaging, patching, and deploying software or infrastructure components.
- 4 years of related infrastructure or systems engineering experience.
- Experience installing, testing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting enterprise infrastructure.
- Knowledge of application and infrastructure architecture.
- Ability to perform technical work relatively independently.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify and mitigate technical and operational risks.
- Ability to communicate technical information based on the needs of the audience.
Preferred Skills or Experience
- Capacity monitoring and capacity planning experience.
- Experience using infrastructure performance, capacity, software, or hardware monitoring tools.
- Experience contributing to enterprise system architecture, security standards, or implementation procedures.
- Experience supporting enterprise-level system integrations.
