Industry leader in the Capital Region is looking for a talented Engineering professional to join their growing supply chain group. This role would be primarily responsible for evaluating suppliers ability to provide necessary products and materials in a timely and accurate nature. This position would also be working closely with the engineering group, finance, and sales teams. General responsibilities will include:
- Evaluates suppliers for materials, finished goods, and contract manufacturing
- Performs audits and capability assessments to evaluate supplier qualifications and compliance.
- Monitors performance and compliance utilizing a variety of methods including key performance indicators including delivery time, quality, and communication
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, material requirements, and process needs.
- Assist in the procurement of materials and finished goods to support manufacturing, quality, and cost objectives.
- Works with Engineering to ensure supplier capabilities align with product and process requirements.
- Prepares RFQs, analyzes supplier quotations, and supports departmental purchasing efforts.
- Negotiates pricing, contracts, lead times, and service agreements.
Candidate experience required:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; other Degrees may be considered with additional experience
- 3+ years of experience in a Supplier Engineer, Purchasing Engineering, or Sourcing Engineer role
- Strong mechanical aptitude, understanding of basic engineering principles
- Experience utilizing an ERP and or MRP systems; MS Office experience preferred
- Excellent communicative and organizational skills
