Structural Packaging Design Engineer
Responsibilities
- Design and develop folding carton packaging in a deadline-driven environment
- Prepare and manage electronic artwork files
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine product characteristics, materials, and handling requirements
- Collaborate with clients and sales teams to define concepts, dimensions, and design requirements
- Create, modify, and refine packaging designs for functionality and aesthetics
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, print specifications (lithography/flexography), and company procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
Requirements
- Experience with prepress and print specifications (lithography and flexography)
- Associate's degree in Mechanical/Structural Design or related field or equivalent experience (3 years); trade school with GED considered
- Preferred: Degree in printing, graphic arts, or related field with folding carton industry experience
- Strong knowledge of packaging structure, graphic design, layout, and file preparation
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- High attention to detail with strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), Adobe Acrobat, Esko, and ArtiosCAD
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and perform basic physical tasks (sitting, standing, light lifting up to 20 lbs)
