Forklift Operator / Material Handler
Job Summary:
Responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, load, unload, stage, and organize products and materials throughout a logistics and warehouse facility. This position requires attention to safety, accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate sit-down and/or stand-up forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Move materials, pallets, products, and inventory throughout the warehouse.
- Stage materials in designated areas for shipping, receiving, and production.
- Verify quantities and inspect materials for damage.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory placement and organization.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with general warehouse and material-handling duties as needed.
- Work as part of a team to meet daily production and shipping goals.
- Lift, push, pull, and move materials as required.
Qualifications
- Previous forklift or warehouse experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50–75 pounds as required.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Dependable attendance and ability to work independently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Forklift certification preferred or willingness to become certified.
