Job Summary
We are seeking an analytical Staff Accountant
to maintain the integrity of our financial records and drive our monthly close process. This role takes ownership of core general ledger functions, fixed asset tracking, variance analysis, and standard cost reconciliations to provide management with accurate, timely financial reporting.
Core Responsibilities
- Month-End Close: Prepare and post journal entries, execute balance sheet reconciliations, and compile monthly financial statement packages.
- Manufacturing & Cost Support: Analyze standard vs. actual manufacturing variances, monitor inventory valuation adjustments, and review bill of materials (BOM) cost accuracy.
- Asset & Ledger Management: Maintain the fixed asset subledger, calculating monthly depreciation and tracking capital expenditure (CapEx) tracking budgets.
- Treasury & Tax Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations across multi-currency accounts and assist with local sales/use tax filings.
- Audit & Reporting Support: Prepare audit schedules for year-end reviews and run ad-hoc financial analysis reports for plant management.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Experience: 2+ years of general accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing, production, or cost-accounting setting.
- Tech Skills: Intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills (data tables, complex formulas) and familiarity with mainstream ERP environments.
- Core Skills: Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP, general ledger structures, and operational variance reporting.
