Our client has an opening for an Accounting Specialist in Somerset, Kentucky.
This position will report to the Accounting Manager and requires someone with strong analytical, problem solving, and time management skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support closing process through the preparation of journal entries, calculation of accruals and general ledger account reonciliations
- Maintain project cost tracking programs relying on company policy and GAAP to determine proper classification of capital and general expenses.
- Serve as primary point of contact for policy questions and explanations related to capital assets to include fixed assets and depreciation, etc
- Prepare capital asset additions, sales, retirements and transfers ensuring all transactions are properly recorded
- Create and present budgeted vs actual analysis for capital project to management
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Proficient with MS Office Suite to include Word/PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Strong Excel to include look ups, pivot tables etc
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience with Capital and Fixed Asset experience preferred
