Position Summary
The Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies to secure materials and services that support organizational objectives related to cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance. This role leads supplier selection efforts, material quoting activities, contract negotiations, and supplier management initiatives while identifying opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supply risk mitigation.
The ideal candidate will possess strong sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management experience within a regulated government contracting environment and have working knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (TCPD) requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned commodities and spend categories.
- Lead supplier evaluations, supplier selection activities, RFQ/RFP events, negotiations, and contract management efforts.
- Analyze supplier proposals, pricing structures, market conditions, and spend data to determine fair and reasonable pricing.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contractual agreements to achieve optimal commercial outcomes.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Program Management, and other stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assess market conditions, industry trends, and supply chain risks to proactively address sourcing challenges.
- Support supplier transition activities and supply continuity planning efforts.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and delivery expectations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and government procurement regulations.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen due to contractual requirements.
- Experience working with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Experience working with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR).
- Experience with Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (TCPD) requirements.
- 4–6 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, purchasing, or related functions.
- Demonstrated experience leading supplier negotiations and contract management activities.
- Experience developing and implementing sourcing strategies.
- Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, procurement platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of sourcing best practices, cost analysis methodologies, supplier performance management, and supply chain risk mitigation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience supporting government, aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or highly regulated industries.
- Experience conducting supplier cost analysis and market intelligence assessments.
- Experience supporting complex procurement and subcontracting activities.
Additional Information
- Reports directly to the Subcontracts Director for the assigned commodity area.
- Exercises independent judgment and decision-making within established policies and procedures.
- Works with limited supervision while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Responsible for balancing cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance objectives.
- Onsite position; remote work is not available.
