Senior Cybersecurity Specialist (Help Desk Focus)

Overview
Excellent opportunity to join a stable, growing organization in a hands-on cybersecurity role with strong visibility across the business. This position blends IT support and cybersecurity, serving as a key escalation point while driving important initiatives around compliance, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management.
This is a full-time, on-site role, within a small, collaborative team. You’ll play a critical role in strengthening the company’s cybersecurity posture while supporting day-to-day IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical escalation point for complex IT and endpoint-related issues
- Support and contribute to cybersecurity initiatives, including NIST 800-171 and CMMC compliance efforts
- Perform vulnerability management, remediation, and patching activities
- Manage and monitor endpoint security tools, including CrowdStrike EDR
- Conduct malware screening for sensitive files, including government-related drawings and contracts
- Assist with audit readiness, documentation, and compliance reporting
- Help improve IT service delivery, reduce ticket backlog, and enhance overall support processes
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and security enhancements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, or systems support with cybersecurity exposure
- Hands-on experience with:
- Endpoint security / EDR tools (CrowdStrike strongly preferred)
- Vulnerability management and patching
- Troubleshooting across endpoints and user environments
- Familiarity with NIST 800-171(CMMC knowledge is a plus)
- Experience in a regulated environment(aerospace, defense, or government) is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to ask questions, escalate issues, and collaborate effectively
- Self-starter with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary:$80,000 – $120,000 (flexible for top candidates)
