Key Responsibilities of the Sr. Construction Project Manager Job in Los Angeles & North Orange County, CA:
- Take overall responsibility for the direction, completion, and financial outcome of complex construction projects with revenues of $50 million and above.
- Perform accurate project revenue and cost financial forecasting to ensure corporate profitability goals are met and projects run at or above expected margins.
- Coordinate with estimators and project controls to establish budgets and participate in bid review and bid closing to ensure accuracy and evaluate project feasibility.
- Coordinate with the large project executive, construction manager, and project team to develop a comprehensive plan for project startup and successful kickoff.
- Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost reports, and forecasts to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Create an environment where dynamic project communication occurs between Project Engineers, Foremen, Superintendents, and the Construction Manager to ensure work is accomplished efficiently, profitably, and safely.
- Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships with public agencies, municipalities, and general contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with field superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and crews to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract documents.
- Review and negotiate subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders; manage project procurement and material logistics.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent work experience in heavy civil construction considered.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive project experience in heavy civil construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of contract documents, change order management, and public agency procurement processes.
- Proficiency in project management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, or similar tools.
