Senior CNC Programmer & Lead

Seeking a skilled machinist with extensive experience in CNC programming and Mastercam. The ideal candidate will work primarily on machine operations, interpret technical drawings, and lead within their team. They will be responsible for ensuring machine efficiency. The position requires the programmer to develop complete CNC program packages using CAD and CAM software (SolidWorks and MasterCAM) for 4-5 axis CNC Milling equipment, CNC Lathes, and CNC Mill-Turn machines. Packages include, but are not limited to, machining programs, cutter selection, setup documentation, tooling, fixture design and drafting, CNC tooling programs, verification, and shop aid sketches.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze job orders, blueprints, specifications, and design data in order to calculate part dimension compatibility with machines, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
- Write, store, and modify original and/or existing CNC programs to enhance efficiency.
- Store, retrieve, and transfer CNC data as required.
- Coordinate with other functional areas of workshop as needed to implement and change CNC programs.
- Provide progress, status, and troubleshooting reports to management.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility.
- Comply with all standard safety requirements, policies, and procedures to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Participate in required ongoing professional training.
- Perform all physical functions of position: standing, stooping, bending, sitting, walking, twisting, kneeling, turning, and lifting materials up to 35lbs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, REQUIRED SKILLS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in the machining industry
- 5+ years of CAD and CAM experience (SolidWorks and MasterCAM preferred)
- Ability to work with complicated drawings, sketches, and specifications
- Ability to read Blueprints and understand measuring devices, both standard and metric
- Ability to interpret engineering documentation and write appropriate machine-level instructions, including revisions to existing programs.
- Good computer skills and ability to query, monitor, and input NC machine system data
- Attention to detail, and ability to multitask, and handle multiple priorities at a time.
- Ability to communicate effectively, work cooperatively with others, be adaptable and problem solve when needed, and be a team player.
