Overview

Client is seeking a Software Engineer to support system build infrastructure, software integration, and automated build processes across multiple programs. This role will develop automation utilities, maintain configuration and build frameworks, troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines, and support software development teams with integration and delivery issues.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support system build infrastructure, automation frameworks, and software configuration processes.
  • Integrate, support, and debug software deliveries across multiple development programs.
  • Design and develop automation utilities, reusable modules, and automated development tools.
  • Develop and maintain build automation infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and support CI/CD build pipelines.
  • Diagnose software build, integration, configuration, and delivery issues.
  • Support development teams when technical impediments or pipeline failures arise.
  • Participate in daily Scrum meetings, sprint reviews, and technical demonstrations.
  • Assist with converting legacy scripts, including Perl scripts, into readable Python code.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of Python programming experience.
  • 3 years of experience working with the Linux or Unix command line.
  • 5 years of experience with software configuration management tools, including Git, Artifactory, and Nexus.
  • Experience supporting software build, integration, configuration, or delivery processes.
  • Experience developing automation scripts, utilities, or reusable software modules.
  • Understanding of software compilation and build processes.

Preferred Skills or Experience

  • Active security clearance.
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD, including running pipelines, creating jobs, and resolving common pipeline failures.
  • Experience building and running Docker containers.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts and basic deployment activities.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and class-based development.
  • Experience developing small to medium-sized reusable software modules.
  • Experience debugging and improving automation scripts.
  • Experience converting legacy Perl scripts to Python.
