Overview
Client is seeking a Software Engineer to support the development of web-based control applications for advanced command-and-battle-staff training solutions. The environment combines live, virtual, and constructive simulation assets, command-and-control systems, and Client/HLA gateways.
Core Responsibilities
- Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities throughout the development lifecycle.
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug software applications.
- Develop a web-based front-end control application supporting simulation and training systems.
- Translate business and mission requirements into logical and mathematical software solutions.
- Apply established software development standards, processes, procedures, and tools.
- Analyze system capabilities, output requirements, input data, programming techniques, and application controls.
- Troubleshoot and correct software defects.
- Prepare operating instructions and technical documentation.
- Ensure software solutions comply with applicable development standards.
- Support software integration across simulation assets, command-and-control systems, and Client/HLA gateways.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related discipline.
- Software engineering experience across the development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following:
- Java
- JavaScript
- TypeScript
- Angular
- Experience with GitLab or equivalent CI/CD tools.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience developing, testing, debugging, and documenting software applications.
Preferred Skills or Experience
- Experience designing or developing GUI-based applications.
- Experience developing web-based front-end applications.
- Experience learning and implementing new tools or programming languages.
- Experience integrating newer tools and technologies into established software environments.
- Experience improving software development processes and efficiency.
- Experience with live, virtual, and constructive simulation.
- Experience with command-and-control systems, Client, or HLA.
