SMT Machine Operator

Job Summary: NESCO Resource is seeking a detail-oriented SMT Operator to set up and operate surface mount technology equipment in an electronics manufacturing environment on a temp-to-perm contract. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with small electronic components, using a microscope, maintaining product quality during high-volume builds, and adapting to changing production schedules.
Shift & Pay:
- Shift: Monday – Friday, Day Shift (Flexible Scheduling Available)
- Pay Range:$20.00 - $24.00/Hour (Based On Exp.)
Job Duties:
- Ensure all required materials and production documentation are available before starting a build.
- Set up and operate surface mount equipment to meet production requirements.
- Work with small electronic components using a microscope and other appropriate tools.
- Maintain consistent product quality and focus during large-quantity production runs.
- Inspect products and identify non-conforming components or assemblies.
- Stop production when necessary if products do not meet established quality standards.
- Respond quickly to changing production schedules and priorities.
- Support workplace organization, 5S initiatives, production metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Participate in team meetings focused on quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Support overtime requirements as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Electronics manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to set up and operate surface mount equipment.
- Ability to work with small components and use a microscope.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy during repetitive, high-volume builds.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and meet production deadlines.
- Self-motivated, diligent, and able to maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
- Flexibility to assist in different departments with short notice.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely perform essential job duties and meet productivity and quality standards.
- Ability to communicate clearly and maintain regular, punctual attendance.
Overtime:
Overtime may be available and may include staying 1–2 hours late during the week and/or working 6 hours on Saturday.
