Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a forklift to move raw materials, finished products, pallets, and other materials throughout the facility.
- Load and unload trailers and delivery trucks safely and efficiently.
- Prepare finished products for shipment according to customer and company requirements.
- Verify product quantities, labels, and shipping paperwork for accuracy.
- Stage completed orders in the appropriate shipping areas.
- Inspect pallets, loads, and products before shipment to help prevent damage or shipping errors.
- Secure and organize materials and finished products for safe transportation.
- Receive incoming materials and place them in designated storage locations.
- Maintain accurate inventory and shipping records as required.
- Communicate with production and shipping personnel regarding order status and material needs.
- Perform daily forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Keep the shipping area, warehouse, and equipment clean and organized.
- Follow all company safety policies, forklift procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Assist with general warehouse and production duties as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous forklift experience required or strongly preferred.
- Current forklift certification is a plus.
- Previous shipping, warehouse, manufacturing, or material-handling experience preferred.
- Ability to read and follow shipping instructions and paperwork.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift in a busy manufacturing environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to follow safety procedures and company policies.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and lift.
- Ability to lift and move materials and finished products as required.
- Ability to safely enter and exit trailers and navigate warehouse areas.
- Ability to work around forklifts, production equipment, and normal manufacturing noise.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
