Shipping Associate
Nesco Resource is hiring a Shipping Associate in Horseheads, NY. You'll prepare customer orders for shipment, check that products and quantities are correct, and keep shipping and inventory records accurate. On-the-job training is provided.
Position type: Temporary with the opportunity to transition to full-time employment
What you'll do
- Count, package, weigh, and label products according to order requirements.
- Verify part numbers, quantities, and packaging instructions before shipment.
- Prepare labels, packing slips, and other shipping documents.
- Enter finished goods and shipping information into computer systems.
- Report shortages or discrepancies and assist with inventory counts.
- Keep the shipping area organized and follow safety procedures.
What we're looking for
- High school diploma or GED.
- Accurate counting, basic math, and computer skills.
- Ability to follow packaging and shipping instructions.
- Shipping, warehouse, inventory, or manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with ERP systems, UPS, FedEx, LTL freight, or forklifts is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
