General Purpose
:
Shipping Associate is responsible for performing work related to the receiving, shipment, storage, distribution, or delivery of supplies and products. This includes but is not limited to preparation of shipments, heavy loading & unloading, shipping & receiving and forklift driving. This position also performs tumbling and debur operations using vibratory and tumbling systems for final part preparation procedures. .
Essential Functions:
- Maintains cleanliness, organization, and maximum utilization of space.
- Follows work instructions and job requirements for tumbling, debur and cleaning. Ensures minimization of any foreign objects within final parts.
- Maintain/Complete Inspection Records for forklifts, First Aid kits and Fire extinguishers.
- Perform daily production counts
- Accurately pull, pack, stage and verify orders.
- Primarily using forklifts or hand trucks, load and unload trailers
- Responsible for reading vendor-packing slips, carrier shipping documents and company receiving documents for processing inbound shipments.
- Must have a current driver's license and able to read directions for local delivery using the company truck and/or van.
The above represents the core functions for which machine operators will primarily be held accountable. Warehouse Associates, as are all employees are responsible for:
- Maintaining a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a professional, cooperative manner with customers, vendors, all co-workers including subordinates, peers, supervisors, and managers.
- Adhering to and maintaining all ISO procedures related to the job, all work instructions, as well as adhering to all company policies, rules, and regulations.
- Pending the schedule and needs, Shipping Associated may be requested to perform other job description functions, operate machines or special projects for which they are qualified.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be able to perform all communication requirements in English.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondences and memos, as well as ability to write correspondences is required.
- Basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, common fractions, and percentages are required.
- Trained/certified to drive a fork truck.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Detail oriented and accurate
