Overview
Client is seeking a highly motivated Senior System Engineer to join the End-to-End Solution Integration team supporting next-generation diagnostic solutions. This hands-on role supports the feasibility, development, and integration of complex multidisciplinary systems spanning sample preparation, library preparation, molecular detection technologies, and bioinformatics/data processing pipelines.
The successful candidate will collaborate across assay, software, hardware, and bioinformatics teams to define, integrate, and optimize system-level performance while ensuring technical robustness and operational scalability across diverse technologies.

Core Responsibilities
• Conduct system integration activities across end-to-end workflows, instruments, software platforms, and data pipelines supporting next-generation diagnostic solutions.
• Contribute to requirements definition, defect management, and system testing activities.
• Design and execute verification and validation test cases to ensure comprehensive coverage of system requirements.
• Analyze test results for accuracy, validity, and alignment with requirements.
• Report issues, troubleshoot complex systems, and perform root cause analysis.
• Contribute to system documentation, including requirements, specifications, integration plans, and verification results.
• Identify and lead opportunities for workflow simplification, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including assay, software, hardware, and bioinformatics groups to optimize system-level performance.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of related industry experience.
• Proven experience troubleshooting instruments and software systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Skills or Experience
• Advanced degree in a related discipline.
• Experience with cloud-based systems.
• Experience developing in-vitro diagnostic products.
• Scripting or programming experience using languages such as Python or Java.

Work Details
• Onsite position based in Pleasanton.
• Onsite work schedule of 5 days per week.
• Typical working hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with flexibility based on business needs.
• Interview process includes a phone interview followed by an in-person interview.
