Overview
Client is seeking a Senior SAP HANA Data Engineer to develop and support enterprise data warehouse, ETL, analytics, and reporting solutions. This role will focus on SAP HANA development, data integration, production support, automation, data lineage, and performance optimization across complex enterprise systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and modify SAP HANA database objects, including calculation views, table functions, and stored procedures.
- Design, develop, optimize, and support ETL processes using SAP BODS, Informatica, and Apache NiFi.
- Create and optimize SAP BODS jobs and NiFi data flows.
- Replicate tables and support enterprise data engineering and data integration activities.
- Troubleshoot urgent production issues and restore services based on customer needs.
- Develop automation and guardrails to improve the performance, reliability, and efficiency of daily ETL jobs.
- Perform impact assessments and data lineage analysis for upcoming system and data changes.
- Develop data collection, analytics, metric reporting, and data-driven analysis solutions.
- Create data mappings and maintain technical, operational, and process documentation.
- Support data governance, data security, data quality, and data warehouse initiatives.
- Use approved internal AI tools to improve operational efficiency.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
- Must be a United States citizen.
- 6 years of experience with SQL, Hadoop or Big Data, SAP HANA, or the SAP BusinessObjects suite.
- 6 years of strong, hands-on experience working with SAP HANA databases.
- Hands-on experience developing SAP HANA calculation views, table functions, stored procedures, and related database objects.
- 6 years of ETL experience, especially with SAP BODS, Informatica, and NiFi.
- 3 years of experience with data analytics and/or visualization tools such as Tableau.
- 3 years of experience performing impact assessments and data lineage analysis.
- Experience developing enterprise data warehouse solutions.
- Experience with automation and ETL process optimization.
- Understanding of data governance, data security, and data quality.
- Strong production troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.
- Experience creating data mappings and technical documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills or Experience
- Experience supporting Enterprise Resource Planning, Product Lifecycle Management, and/or Manufacturing Execution System platforms and processes.
- Experience using approved internal AI tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Experience supporting data collection, metric reporting, and analytics execution.
