Senior Business Development Manager
Summary of Position
The Senior Business Development Manager's primary responsibilities are to source and secure
new business in their assigned territory, and work with the recruitment team to meet or exceed
clients' temporary and direct placement staffing needs.
Reports to: Market Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Build relationships with businesses, leaders, and professional networks on a continuous
basis, building a pipeline of future clients who are attracted to the staffing solutions we
provide.
• Create a target account plan to strategically approach networking and prospect visit
priorities.
• Develop new business opportunities through cold calls to prospective clients.
• Consistently meet weekly productivity expectations for scheduled prospect phone
meetings and in-person prospect meetings.
• Drive the sales cycle from initial conversation with gatekeepers through appointment
requests, follow-up meetings, agreements, and the billing process.
• Achieve new business goals to meet milestone Senior Business Development Manager
metrics.
• Build supportive and reciprocal relationships with branch recruitment and operation teams
to ensure collaborative efforts that meet client expectations.
• Assist with developing and implementing team sales strategies.
• Monitor weekly and monthly sales metrics to ensure adherence to performance
expectations.
• Prioritize daily requirements, team schedules, and utilization of resources.
• Ensure all levels of the sales delivery team are using best practices to identify
candidates.
• Train, mentor, and coach team members as needed to improve skills and develop
strengths.
• Participate in local chamber of commerce meetings, safety councils, and other community
organizations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of greater economic market trends, including downsizing,
relocation, and outsourcing.
• Remain current and engaged in understanding the geographic market and develop an
onsite prospect funnel.
• Comply with all company safety guidelines and processes, reporting known safety issues,
including near misses, accidents and potential concerns, to the appropriate supervisor or
member of the risk department.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required; 2-3 years' B2B or staffing sales experience, or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Exceptional customer/client service skills.
• Ability to make cold calls and perform sales presentations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, effective partnerships, strategic
work relationships and communicate with a wide range of professionals.
• High emotional intelligence and the ability to gain acceptance of ideas.
• Exceptional customer service skills and business ethics.
• Driven, energetic, and tenacious; willing to work extended hours when necessary and
perform at a high level of productivity.
• Ability to maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition.
• Ability to keep organization vision and values at the forefront of daily actions and
decisions.

Physical Demands
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Needs to occasionally move about
the inside of the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. and bend or stand as
necessary. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a
calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. This role routinely uses standard office
equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Occasionally positions self to move boxes or equipment weighing 25 pounds or less. Frequently
communicates with fellow employees, clients, associates, etc. Must be able to perceive objects
at a distance and up close. Must be able to travel for short or extended periods to other Nesco
Resource client locations as needed for specific meetings, or to other business locations related
to business.
