Overview
Client is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Senior Build Engineer/SDET to support a complex, fast-paced software development environment. This role is responsible for building, maintaining, and continuously improving development infrastructure, release processes, and engineering tools across distributed teams.
The ideal candidate will drive CI/CD strategy, maintain build and source control systems, enforce code quality standards, and support large-scale software releases while improving developer productivity through automation and AI-enabled engineering solutions.

Core Responsibilities
• Build, maintain, and continuously improve development infrastructure, including source code repositories, build systems, automation scripts, continuous integration platforms, packaging tools, and deployment solutions.
• Provide strategic direction and operational support for development organization tooling and engineering efficiency initiatives.
• Establish and maintain Agile development toolsets used for user story management, defect tracking, and release planning.
• Define and implement processes that maintain codebase integrity, including check-in validation, branching strategies, merge policies, and repository governance.
• Investigate, recommend, and implement best practices for code quality, including code metrics, code review workflows, code coverage measurement, and static and dynamic analysis tools.
• Plan, create, and maintain large-scale software releases, shared libraries, and version control strategies to ensure reliable delivery cycles.
• Design, develop, and deploy CI/CD solutions that automate build, test, and deployment workflows across multiple teams and environments.
• Architect tools, frameworks, and processes that enforce code quality standards through automated testing, static analysis, and pre-merge validation gates.
• Integrate AI-driven capabilities that improve developer productivity, automate engineering workflows, and optimize release processes.
• Maintain, support, and scale build infrastructure across Linux and Windows server environments.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
• 5+ years of experience in software build engineering, CI/CD, SDET, or related software development infrastructure roles.
• Strong experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, or similar platforms.
• Expertise in source control management technologies including Git, Perforce, and SVN, with experience defining branching strategies such as Gitflow and trunk-based development.
• Experience with build systems and tooling including Make, Gradle, Maven, Bazel, MSBuild, CMake, or similar technologies.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Shell/Bash, PowerShell, Groovy, or comparable technologies.
• Experience with packaging and deployment solutions, artifact repositories, and container registries including Artifactory, Nexus, and Docker registries.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP to support build and deployment pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools including Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Experience with static and dynamic code analysis tools such as SonarQube, Coverity, or equivalent solutions.
• Strong understanding of code coverage methodologies, test automation frameworks, and integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience administering Agile development tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Rally for user story and defect management.
• Experience with code review platforms and workflows, including Gerrit and GitHub or GitLab pull request processes.
• Experience integrating AI and machine learning tools to automate engineering workflows and improve developer productivity.
• Understanding of code quality metrics, release governance, and software delivery processes across distributed development teams.
• Experience designing version control strategies and managing large-scale software releases across multiple teams.
