Senior Accountant

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail oriented and dependable Senior Accountant to manage the day to day accounting functions of a growing organization. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys maintaining accurate financial records, working extensively in QuickBooks and Excel, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the integrity of the general ledger. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting monthly financial reporting, account reconciliations, and overall accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting & Ledger Management

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger using QuickBooks

Record daily financial transactions and journal entries

Ensure accuracy and completeness of all accounting records

Maintain supporting schedules and accounting documentation

Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts

Review and resolve discrepancies in financial records

Assist with month end, quarter end, and year end closing activities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules

Generate recurring management reports using Excel and accounting software

Analyze financial data and identify variances or trends

Maintain detailed spreadsheets for account analysis and reporting

Support budgeting and forecasting activities through data collection and reporting

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

Process vendor invoices and payments

Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections when necessary

Reconcile vendor and customer accounts

Maintain organized electronic records for all accounting transactions

Tax & Compliance Support

Prepare supporting schedules for tax filings and external accountants

Assist with annual audits and financial reviews

Maintain compliance with accounting policies and procedures

Support 1099 preparation and reporting requirements

Record Keeping & Documentation

Maintain accurate accounting files and financial records

Ensure all supporting documentation is organized and audit ready

Develop and improve accounting processes and spreadsheet tracking tools

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

3 years of accounting experience

Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations

Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting

Experience preparing financial statements and supporting schedules

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Ideal Candidate

Enjoys working with spreadsheets, reconciliations, and detailed financial data

Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy

Takes ownership of maintaining clean, accurate, and reliable financial records
