SUMMARY:
Inspects and repairs printed circuit boards (PCBs)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow inspection work instructions
- Verify conformance to required specification indicated in traveler
- Examines PCB circuitry to detect defects
- Repairs PCBs
- Records type and quantity of defective PCBs
- Tests adherence of solder mask ink to PCBs.
- Discard non-conforming material (including ITAR)
- Update Jobs in Prototrak, sign and date traveler gate(s), move job to next department Serialized board as required by traveler
LEVEL DESCRIPTORS:
- Knowledge- General knowledge of inspection practices and quality system requirements
- Direction- Works under general direction
- Complexity- Solves problems of high complexity within own department
- Scope- Errors in judgment would have a high impact on department
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years experience with mechanical and visual inspection preferred, but not required.
- Ability to use basic tools-calipers, micrometers, regular or handheld microscope.
- Read and understand blueprints.
- Basic knowledge of PCB terminology.
- Read and write English
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Required to use hands.
- Required to sit for extended periods of time.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- X-out and/or discard non-conforming boards or panels (notify supervisor or manager immediately if order quantity is jeopardized).
- Authorize release of conforming product by signing Certificate of Compliance
- Initiate corrective actions
- Initiate continuous improvements
