Pay: $20.00 per hour



Job Summary

This role involves maintaining a clean and safe production environment by ensuring all equipment and facility areas are sanitized according to established procedures. Responsibilities include cleaning various parts of the facility using approved chemicals, assisting with daily cleaning processes for production equipment, and ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations. The position reports to the Sanitation Manager and works closely with the Quality Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sanitize production equipment and facility areas, including floors, walls, and overhead structures.
  • Follow sanitation procedures and schedules to complete assigned tasks.
  • Assist with manual and automated cleaning processes for specific equipment and lines.
  • Use personal protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols during cleaning activities.
  • Handle and store cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with guidelines.
  • Operate various sanitation equipment, such as floor scrubbers and pressure cleaners.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling activities.
  • Respond to spills and unsanitary conditions promptly and report any issues.
  • Participate in sanitation inspections and audits as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities and chemical use.
  • Ensure supplies and storage areas are organized and properly labeled.
  • Report any issues related to sanitation supplies or equipment promptly.
  • Adhere to good manufacturing practices and company policies at all times.

Qualifications

  • Experience in sanitation, industrial cleaning, or food manufacturing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with industrial cleaning chemicals and equipment is advantageous.
  • Ability to read and follow safety instructions and work assignments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to undergo training in chemical safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
  • Physical capability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in wet, humid, noisy, and temperature-variable environments.
  • Safe handling of industrial chemicals and equipment while using personal protective gear.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.

Education

High school diploma or GED required.
