Industrial Painter / Sandblaster

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Painter / Sandblaster to join a growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for preparing metal surfaces and applying industrial coatings to fabricated components and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with abrasive blasting, surface preparation, industrial spray painting, and multi-component coating systems. This position requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing a consistent, high-quality finish.

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare metal surfaces for painting and coating applications.

• Perform abrasive blasting, sanding, grinding, cleaning, and other surface preparation.

• Remove rust, scale, contaminants, and surface imperfections prior to coating.

• Mask and protect areas that should not receive paint or coatings.

• Mix and prepare primers, paints, epoxies, and other industrial coatings according to specifications.

• Apply coatings using industrial spray equipment, brushes, and rollers.

• Adjust spray equipment and coating mixtures to achieve proper coverage and finish.

• Apply multi-component and epoxy-based coating systems.

• Inspect completed work for coverage, appearance, and overall quality.

• Clean, maintain, and properly store spray equipment and related tools.

• Safely operate grinders, sanders, blasting equipment, and other production tools.

• Follow all safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Coordinate with fabrication and production teams to meet quality and scheduling requirements.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Previous industrial painting and/or sandblasting experience.

• Experience preparing metal surfaces for industrial coatings.

• Knowledge of industrial spray-painting techniques and equipment.

• Experience mixing and applying primers, paints, epoxies, or similar coatings.

• Ability to safely operate surface-preparation tools and equipment.

• Ability to follow coating specifications, work instructions, and safety procedures.

• Strong attention to detail and quality.

• Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Several years of industrial painting or coating experience.

• Abrasive blasting or sandblasting experience.

• Experience with two-part or multi-component epoxy coating systems.

• Experience painting fabricated steel or industrial equipment.

• Previous experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.

• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.

• Ability to lift and move materials as required.

• Ability to wear required PPE and work safely in an industrial environment.

Schedule

• Full-Time

• Overtime may be available or required based on production needs.

• Schedule flexibility may be required.

Compensation

$22.00–$24.00 per hour, based on experience.
