Sales Compensation Analyst

Location: Chandler, AZ (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Position Overview

The Sales Compensation Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Sales Compensation and Sales Operations teams by developing, administering, and optimizing sales incentive compensation programs. This position partners closely with Sales Operations leadership to analyze compensation plans, automate processes, develop reporting, and deliver actionable business insights that improve operational efficiency and support business growth.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and financial skills, advanced Excel expertise, and experience working with sales compensation programs in a large, multi-geographical sales organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and administer the commission database used to calculate variable compensation and sales quotas.
  • Review, analyze, and support ongoing compensation plan updates and changes.
  • Perform financial analysis related to sales quota attainment, commission reconciliation, and gross profit performance at both the individual and organizational levels.
  • Conduct cost analysis and modeling for alternative commission plans, incentive structures, and quota scenarios.
  • Partner with Sales Operations leadership to develop metrics and reporting that measure compensation program effectiveness.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and analytical tools that improve compensation administration and business visibility.
  • Perform ad hoc research, data collection, modeling, forecasting, and analytical projects.
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Analyze large data sets to uncover trends and actionable business insights.
  • Support the development and enhancement of compensation systems and operational processes.
  • Create, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on compensation policies, systems, and processes.
  • Train internal departments on compensation systems and related processes.
  • Partner with end users to resolve compensation calculation issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Work cross-functionally to investigate and resolve commission calculation discrepancies.
  • Participate in special projects and business initiatives as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Sales Compensation
    • Sales Operations
    • Business Analytics
    • Business Intelligence
    • Finance
    • Other quantitative business functions
  • Experience supporting a large, multi-location or global sales organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into meaningful business recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience creating business reports, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
