A robotic steel welder operates and tends automated welding systems to fabricate steel parts. The role involves setting up robotic arms, loading raw steel pieces into fixtures, monitoring high-volume runs, and inspecting finished weld joints for quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Cells:Run automated and semi-automated welding equipment per production schedules.
- Load and Unload:Secure steel components in jigs, clamps, and fixtures.
- Monitor Quality:Check finished steel assemblies visually or with calipers and gauges.
- Perform Adjustments:Fine-tune basic torch angles, wire feed speeds, or pre-programmed routines.
- Routine Maintenance:Clean welding tips, clear debris, and perform daily upkeep on machinery.[ 1, 2, 3, 4]
Core Requirements
- Blueprint Reading:Ability to read technical drawings and weld symbols.
- Steel Knowledge:Familiarity with MIG (GMAW) or related steel welding basics.

Job Description: Fabication Welder
A Fitter Welder , is responsible for reading blueprints, laying out, fitting, and welding stainless steel components to precise specifications. Key duties include using MIG/TIG/Stick welding, operating grinding tools, measuring with calipers, and ensuring high-quality fabricated parts.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Fabrication & Fitting: Read and interpret blueprints to Client out, position, align, and secure parts (stainless steel) using clamps, jigs, and fixtures.
- Welding: Perform MIG, TIG, or Stick welding in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead) on stainless steel tubing and components.
- Fabrication Tools: Utilize grinders, plasma cutters, and other pneumatic/power tools for cutting and shaping.
- Precision & Quality: Use calipers, tape measures, and gauges to ensure accuracy, and perform visual inspections for defects.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of solid welding experience, specifically with stainless steel.
- Strong proficiency in reading blue prints and weld symbols.
- High school diploma or equivalent
