Up to $45/hour (Manager is willing to negotiate based on experience)

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Research & Development Scientist/Engineer to support advanced research initiatives and experimental programs. This individual will conduct research activities, analyze findings, and provide technical expertise in vacuum systems and gas management processes. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on laboratory or engineering experience with the ability to lead projects and communicate technical results to both internal and external stakeholders.
This role offers strong long-term potential with the opportunity to convert to a full-time permanent employee.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and execute research and development experiments.
- Apply scientific theories, engineering principles, and analytical methods to support research objectives.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and optimize vacuum systems and gas management equipment.
- Collect, analyze, summarize, and present research data and findings.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal teams and external partners.
- Lead complex projects and provide technical guidance to team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups to drive innovation and process improvements.
- Maintain compliance with safety procedures and laboratory standards.
- Support the development of new technologies, products, and processes.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in research, development, engineering, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience with vacuum systems and gas management systems(highly preferred).
- Strong understanding of scientific methods, experimental design, and data analysis.
- Ability to independently plan and execute complex assignments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience presenting technical findings to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or other graduate-level education in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in laboratory, semiconductor, manufacturing, or advanced technology environments.
- Leadership experience or the ability to direct the work of others.
