Position: Quality Technician / Inspector - Setup Operator

Summary:
Nesco Resource is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician / Inspector - Setup Operator to join a growing manufacturing team in Rochester, NY. This temp-to-perm opportunity is ideal for candidates with quality inspection experience who are proficient in reading blueprints, using precision measuring instruments, and maintaining quality documentation. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring products meet customer and engineering specifications throughout the manufacturing process while supporting production setup activities and continuous quality improvement.
Pay Rate:
$20.00 - $25.00/Hour (Based On Experience)
Shift:
Full-Time 7:00am - 3:30PM M-F
Job Duties:

Perform receiving, first article, in-process, and final inspections on raw materials and finished products

Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMMs, and optical inspection equipment

Verify products meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation
-
Compile inspection reports, material certifications, and customer quality documentation

Record inspection results and maintain quality records in internal databases and quality management systems

Identify, document, and report product non-conformances

Support production setup activities as directed by the Quality Manager

Ensure inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained

Work closely with production personnel to resolve quality concerns and improve manufacturing processes

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Support continuous improvement initiatives and follow all company quality and safety procedures
Requirements:
-
Minimum of 2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment required

Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
-
Experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) preferred

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications

Familiarity with common machine shop equipment and manufacturing processes

Strong mathematical skills, including fractions, decimals, and measurement conversions

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to learn new technologies and quality systems quickly

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Reliable attendance and commitment to quality and safety standards
Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. as needed

Frequent use of hands for measuring, inspecting, and handling components

Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive inspection tasks

Ability to visually inspect small, detailed components with a high level of accuracy

Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards
