Position Summary
We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing team in Ballston Spa, NY. This position is responsible for performing inspections, testing, and quality control activities for electrical component products used in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
The Quality Inspector will support production operations by ensuring products meet established quality standards, interpreting technical documentation, identifying issues, and providing real-time support to manufacturing teams. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, and the ability to make quality decisions within established guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Perform in-process inspections, final product inspections, and quality checks throughout the manufacturing process
- Inspect products according to technical documentation, quality procedures, and established standards
- Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to verify product requirements
- Perform testing, measurements, and inspections using appropriate tools and equipment
- Document inspection results, maintain quality records, and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date
- Monitor calibration equipment and maintain related records
- Provide quality support and guidance to production teams regarding inspection decisions and quality requirements
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve routine quality issues on the production floor
- Support non-conformance management by identifying, controlling, and documenting defective materials
- Apply ISO 9001 quality systems and IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001) within daily operations
- Maintain compliance with safety policies, company procedures, and quality requirements
- Support customer inspections and third-party audits as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Quality Control or Quality Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings, technical documentation, and quality requirements
- Proficient with measurement tools and inspection equipment, with the ability to evaluate and document results
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality procedures, and documentation practices
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001) preferred
- Experience in electrical manufacturing or highly regulated manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to make quality decisions in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with production teams, inspectors, and cross-functional departments
