We're seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support quality performance across a complex industrial manufacturing operation. This position will develop and improve quality processes, investigate manufacturing issues, analyze quality data, and work directly with production and engineering teams to prevent defects and improve product consistency. The right candidate will bring a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related technical discipline, along with hands-on quality engineering experience in manufacturing.
What You'll Own
Quality Engineering & Process Control
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality processes and standards for manufacturing operations.
- Perform inspections and audits of incoming materials, manufacturing processes, and finished products.
- Evaluate processes and products against engineering requirements, customer specifications, and established quality standards.
- Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances and quality concerns.
- Develop inspection and testing methods that support consistent product quality.
- Partner with production to address quality issues and prevent recurring defects.
Root Cause & Corrective Action
- Lead investigations into product defects, process failures, customer complaints, and recurring quality issues.
- Apply structured root cause analysis techniques to determine the source of problems.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor corrective actions to verify effectiveness and prevent recurrence.
- Work with production and engineering teams to address process-related quality concerns.
- Support disposition and resolution of nonconforming material and product.
Quality Data & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze quality data to identify trends, recurring defects, process variation, and opportunities for improvement.
- Apply quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, and other statistical and problem-solving methods.
- Establish and monitor quality metrics and performance indicators.
- Recommend process improvements that reduce defects, waste, rework, and customer issues.
- Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Use data and engineering judgment to support quality and manufacturing decisions.
Quality Systems & Compliance
- Maintain quality procedures, inspection records, testing documentation, and corrective-action records.
- Support implementation and maintenance of applicable quality management systems.
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet customer requirements and applicable industry standards.
- Support internal, customer, and third-party quality audits.
- Assist with quality documentation for new and modified products.
- Help ensure quality requirements are effectively communicated throughout manufacturing.
Manufacturing & Product Support
- Work directly with production and engineering teams to resolve manufacturing quality issues.
- Provide quality input during product development, design changes, and production implementation.
- Evaluate manufacturability and quality risks associated with new or modified products.
- Support product testing, inspection activities, and evaluation of materials and components.
- Provide training and guidance to production personnel regarding quality requirements and corrective actions.
- Serve as a technical quality resource for day-to-day manufacturing issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and other departments to improve product quality.
- Communicate technical quality issues clearly to both engineering and production personnel.
- Participate in design and process reviews where quality risks or requirements need to be evaluated.
- Work with suppliers or external partners when quality issues require investigation.
- Support customer quality concerns and participate in customer audits when required.
- Help drive accountability for corrective actions and sustained quality improvements.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
3+ years of professional Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Quality Engineering experience
Experience working in a manufacturing, fabrication, industrial equipment, or similarly technical production environment
Demonstrated experience with root cause analysis and corrective action
Working knowledge of FMEA, SPC, quality systems, inspection methods, and process control
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and manufacturing requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industrial equipment, fabricated products, or engineered-to-order manufacturing.
- Experience analyzing quality data and identifying process variation or recurring defects.
- Experience conducting quality audits, inspections, and investigations.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience supporting new product development or engineering changes.
- Familiarity with ERP, QMS, or quality management systems.
- CQE, Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, or similar quality certification.

Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based with regular interaction throughout an active manufacturing facility. The production environment is non-temperature-controlled and may include noise, dust, dirt, metal particles, machinery, and other typical industrial conditions. Appropriate PPE is required when entering production areas.
Schedule & Travel
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on business needs.
Travel: Travel is required for this position.
