Title: Quality Control Lead
Location: Manufacturing Center
Department: Quality
Hours: Full Time
Shift Available:
Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday 1:00 pm - 11:00 PM
The Opportunity:
Earth Breeze is seeking a Quality Control (QC) Lead to help ensure the quality, safety, and
consistency of our products, while also providing hands on leadership, training, and guidance to
our QC Technicians on the floor
This role is ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented, analytical, and dependable.
Someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards and who will coach and mentor the
people around them. You'll thrive in this position if you're comfortable working independently,
guiding others, and speaking up when something needs attention. As a QC Lead reporting to
the QC Supervisor, you'll work side by side with the QC Techs in the quality lab and out on the
production floor to make sure procedures are being performed correctly and consistently, and
that the team is properly trained. You'll perform key quality checks yourself, which include
viscosity, pH, stir plate, and moisture testing, while also assessing how the rest of the team is
executing their duties, coaching them in real time and identifying trends that need to be
communicated to the QA Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
As a QC Lead at Earth Breeze, you will…
Team Leadership & Training
Work side by side with QC Technicians in the quality lab and out on the production floor,
observing and guiding their performance of daily and weekly duties.
Ensure QC Technicians are properly trained on department procedures and are
performing them correctly and consistently.
Assess technician performance, identify gaps in knowledge or technique, and provide
real-time coaching and correction.
Onboard and train new QC Technicians on procedures, equipment, and documentation
practices.
Serve as the go to resource for QC Technicians' questions during your shift.
Quality Testing & Monitoring
Perform and record quality control tests including viscosity, pH levels, stir plate/mixing
assessments, and moisture content.
Conduct retention checks and log results accurately.
Identify and communicate any out-of-spec results, trends, or anomalies promptly.
Trend Monitoring & Communication
Actively watch for trends across the QC department, quality lab, and production floor.
Such as recurring issues, technician performance patterns, or process shifts.
Communicate observed trends and floor level concerns clearly and promptly to the QA
Supervisor.
Escalate out of spec results or nonconformances immediately rather than holding them
for a later report.
Data Management
Accurately document and enter test results into logs, forms, and databases.
Track and identify production trends or shifts over time.
Collaboration & Communication
Partner with production team members to ensure parameters, specifications, and
procedures are consistently met.
Clearly communicate any quality concerns or deviations from standard process.
Participate in cross functional meetings or updates as required.
Workplace Monitoring & Safety
Regularly monitor the quality lab and production floor to ensure safety protocols are
followed.
Verify that team members are wearing proper PPE and report any safety concerns or
violations.
Reinforce company safety and hygiene policies as needed.
General Expectations
Maintain a high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Be punctual, reliable, and accountable for all scheduled shifts.
Lead by example, working both independently and collaboratively to help the team
achieve production and quality goals.
Uphold and model company values around quality, communication, and safety.
About You:
You have…
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and an analytical mindset.
Demonstrated experience training, mentoring, or informally leading others.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
The ability to communicate clearly and professionally across teams, including up to
leadership.
A collaborative spirit and appreciation for safety and sustainability in manufacturing
environments.
The confidence to coach and redirect peers respectfully and constructively.
A willingness to learn and take ownership of your work and to help others do the same.
Experience:
You bring…
High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or technical
training in a related field preferred.
Previous experience in a quality control or manufacturing environment required; prior
leadership, training, or mentoring experience strongly preferred.
Working understanding of laboratory testing procedures and tools.
Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, make sound decisions, and guide others in
doing the same.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Additional Requirements:
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening
and background check. Drug testing may include pre-employment testing, random testing where
permitted, and testing based on reasonable suspicion, in accordance with company policy and
applicable law.
