Nesco Resource is currently seeking a QC Lab Assistant for a client in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a great opportunity for candidates looking to build experience in quality control, laboratory operations, and product testing while supporting a team dedicated to maintaining high product quality and compliance standards.

In this role, you will assist the Quality Control team by performing routine laboratory testing, preparing samples, documenting results, and helping ensure raw materials and finished products meet all applicable company standards, regulations, and quality expectations throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities

As a QC Lab Assistant, you will support day-to-day laboratory operations and assist with quality testing throughout multiple stages of production.

Laboratory & Equipment Support

  • Perform daily verification and calibration checks on laboratory equipment and instruments, including:
    • Balances
    • Pipettes
    • Refrigerators and Freezers
    • Ovens
    • FTIR Equipment
    • GCMS Equipment
    • pH Meters
    • Incubators

Quality Control Testing

Assist with testing raw materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met by performing:

  • Documentation and sampling of incoming raw materials
  • Product analysis of nail lacquer and other materials using:
    • Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) instrumentation
    • Wet chemistry testing including:
      • Density Testing
      • Specific Gravity Testing
      • Draw Downs
      • Percent Solids Testing
      • Gardner’s Testing
      • pH Testing
    • Organoleptic testing using sensory evaluation methods

Laboratory Assistance

Support Chemists and Lab Technicians by:

  • Preparing samples for testing
  • Preparing media, broths, and solvent solutions
  • Cleaning and maintaining laboratory glassware
  • Restocking laboratory workstations and supplies
  • Assisting with general lab organization and cleanliness

Quality Documentation & Inventory Control

  • Update and change product disposition after QC evaluation, including:
    • Approved
    • Rejected
    • Out of Specification (OOS)
    • Rework Status
  • Maintain accurate documentation and testing records
  • Assist with proper handling and organization of materials throughout the QC process

General Facility Support

  • Maintain clean and organized assigned work areas
  • Follow all safety procedures and quality standards
  • Assist with additional department duties as needed
  • May assist with minimal handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials following safety protocols

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking candidates who are detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Previous experience working in quality control, laboratory, manufacturing, or production environments
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow testing procedures accurately
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Comfortable working with laboratory equipment and chemicals
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
