Quality Assurance & Quality Control Specialist
Position Summary
The Quality Assurance & Quality Control Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing excellence throughout the production process. This position is responsible for maintaining and improving quality systems, performing dimensional and functional inspections, supporting testing activities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers, the specialist helps ensure all valves meet company, customer, and industry standards while reducing rework and improving overall product performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment to perform dimensional inspections and verify compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Maintain calibration records and ensure all measuring and test equipment remain compliant with established quality procedures and standards.
- Support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), including compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and associated documentation.
- Conduct internal quality audits and assist with corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives.
- Perform and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), customer witness testing, and vendor inspections.
- Assist with hydrostatic, functional, and performance testing of valves and related assemblies.
- Coordinate and oversee the shipment of approximately 8–12 valves per week, ensuring all inspection, testing, and documentation requirements are completed prior to release.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and customer requirements to verify product conformity.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, test reports, quality records, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to identify, investigate, and resolve quality-related issues.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, minimizing rework, and improving first-pass yield.
- Investigate nonconformances and support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Promote quality awareness, accountability, and best practices throughout the organization.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment while adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in quality assurance, quality control, manufacturing inspection, or industrial production environments.
- Hands-on experience with CMM operation and dimensional inspection methods preferred.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and documentation requirements.
- Experience conducting or supporting internal quality audits.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with customers, suppliers, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic quality record systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to support customer visits, supplier audits, testing activities, and occasional travel as required.
